The First Great Northern Chilli Chomp Comp Contact Us to Participate A test most certainly not for the feint hearted! I suppose this idea has been growing in my mind for some time. The Potential is There Whenever I’m at a show there are always people who love to get up and have a go, and there are those who really love to chomp on the chillies and there are some really hot ones out there - I can tell you. The Format In the US they like to use jalapenos for this, I’m undecided on the heat of the chilli to use, but I have of late been taking the contact details of the brave (and potentially foolish) and I think we’re getting a little army of chilli chomp comp’ers. What's in it for Me? (I hear you mutter)
I haven’t decided on the prize, and if there’s a potential sponsor out there then please get in touch…. …but what I am sure of is that there are enough raving lunatics out there to indulge themselves in this bonkers chilli eating comp - watch this space, plans afoot ! The Peter Kay-esque quality in the accent is more than a hint to the heritage of all things Little and Green Little, Green & Made-Up For Lancashire Getting Back t’Roots The Little Green Man is Lancashire born and bred ….and proud of it, and, he was honoured to be asked to support the First Pennine Lancashire Food & Drink Festival this weekend. The Chilli Beer is becoming legend and the Sweet Potato Chilli Soup stole the show! A History The Little Green Family have lived in the same small English rural village on the edge of the Lancashire moors for centuries: their ancestry is blacksmithing, ironworking and stonemasonry, and they helped build the village they call home. The family name can still be seen in stonework in the village, alas, much of the ironwork was melted down during the wars for arms. The Backyard This weekend the Little Green Roadshow landed on Saturday in Darwen, and then moved over the hill to the lovely Edgworth Village, at The Barlow Institute, and the grounds of the Cricket Club. - Chilli Tasting Competetion En-Route

The Little Green Man and Michelin Chef Leigh Myers had the audience captivated in the cultured surroundings of the Grosvenor-Pulford Hotel in Chester. Grosvenor's Largest Cooking Masterclass EVER! Chilli Lecture & TastingRich was his buoyant self and headed up the proceedings with a taste-testing session of the Chilli Beer, an in-depth chat about chillies, showcasing some attractive chilli varieties, and a question and answer session to round it all up. The delivery was well received, and as is fast becoming the norm - the chilli beer sold out! Michelin MasterRich handed over to Michelin Chef Leigh Myers and a 3 course Cooking Masterclass. Leigh was his usual hilarious self, continuing the evening’s proceedings with wit, charm and delicate Michelin sophistication. The Hottest Taste Test in The West Rich and Leigh showed no fear in Danger-Taste-Testing: The Hottest Chilli in the World - with the smoothies on hand of course! The audience were then invited to try hot canopies of deep fried chillies (not for the feint-hearted). Fine Company - Fine Wines Mark Ranfield from Rodney Densem Wines finished the night off with a discussion of the wines he had supplied to complement the various courses of the meal. Mark will be meeting up with Rich to fine tune the wine selection to complement the chilli products coming soon to the Online Chilli Shop and the Chilli Club. The FeedbackThe night was a raging success: the largest cooking masterclass the Grosvenor had ever seen at over 70 people, and everyone left with something to talk about. The Future Rich and Leigh have further cooking masterclass plans, and we will come to you. If you would like to be involved contact us for more details.
